It's Official: Kevin De Bruyne signs for Man City for club record of £55m

It's Official: Kevin De Bruyne had signed for Manchester City for a club record £55m . The 24 years old international Belgium player has signed a 6 years contract. It is the second highest amount paid by an English club after Manchester United's £59.7m signing of Angel Di Maria last year. Reports say De Bruyne will get £20m each year. "I want to reach the highest level possible as a player and I think the most important thing is that at the end of the season we can be happy and maybe have some titles, said De Bruyne, who will receive shirt Number 17, on the official MCFC website. "I think this is most important for the club, the players and for the fans of course." The manager Manuel Pellegrini said: “We are very happy to have added Kevin to our team and I have no doubt that he will be a big success on his return to the Premier League". “It takes a special footballer to improve our squad and I have no doubt that Kevin is certainly one of those – he has all of the mental, physical, tactical and technical attributes required to fit straight in". “We like to play attractive, attacking football and bringing in a player like De Bruyne will only aid us as we fight on four fronts.” De Bruyne, who started playing at Genk FC when he was young, is arriving to the UK for the second time in his career. He signed with Chelsea in 2012, but did not get many chances under coach Jose Mourinho and was sold to Wolfsburg in 2014 for £18m. Last year he had a great season scoring 16 goals plus 28 assist in 51 games.
